Heinrich Heesen is a technology architecture expert and consulting CTO with more than 20 years of experience designing, scaling, and operationalising complex technology platforms. He combines executive-level judgement with deep hands-on technical capability across telecoms, ISP infrastructure, cloud architecture, IoT telemetry, automation, product delivery, and business-critical operating systems.

His current focus is applied artificial intelligence: creating AI-assisted operating models where generative AI, large language models, workflow automation, retrieval-augmented solutions, software agents, browser-based execution, integration tooling, and human approval loops work together to improve throughput, reduce administrative drag, and raise the quality of decision-making.

Through Barberry Labs, recent implementation work has focused on secure, client-environment agentic operations rather than standalone chatbots: dedicated delivery VMs, persistent project memory and logs, deterministic scripts, least-privilege connectors, and human approval gates for security, correctness, and go-live.

• Dropbox to SharePoint Online: AI-assisted collection, staged and replayable transfers, Graph-throttle diagnosis, dashboard briefings, and owner review for content and permissions decisions.
• SYSPRO to Zoho Books / Inventory / CRM: read-only SQL discovery, table catalogues, field maps, evidence packets, reconciliation checks, and least-privilege Zoho MCP actions, with finance and domain experts retaining approval.
• Guided technical support: a bounded agent identifies product and version, retrieves approved procedures, guides one safe step at a time, cites sources, records diagnostics, and escalates when confidence or safety limits are reached.
• Reusable secure migration pattern: agents and scripts run beside customer systems with redacted logs, separated workspaces, replayable jobs, and no customer-visible send or production action without approval.

• Served as CTO/CIO, Director, and Shareholder at iConnect SA, playing a senior leadership role in scaling the company into the biggest hosted PABX provider in South Africa.
