Privacy notice

This notice should be reviewed by a qualified professional before you rely on it. It is a structured draft aligned with POPIA and common GDPR patterns.

Who we are

Barberry Labs (the “business”, “we”, or “us”) is the data controller in respect of the personal information collected through barberrylabs.com and related business correspondence (for example, email, WhatsApp when you start a chat, and calendar or billing tools used after you become a client).

What we collect and why

We may process: your name, email, phone, company, and message when you contact us; technical and usage data (for example, IP, device and browser, pages visited) if you or your host enable analytics; and, if you have opted in, email marketing contact details for a separate, clearly consented list.

Lawful bases: performance of a contract or steps you request before a contract, legitimate interest in replying, securing the site, and understanding aggregate traffic, and, where you tick an opt-in, consent for follow-up news.

Retention and sharing

We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to respond, quote, and deliver, including legal and tax retention. We use recognised processors (e.g. hosting, email, future analytics) under appropriate agreements. We do not sell personal information.

Cross-border transfers

If a processor is outside the country of collection, we aim to ensure adequate safeguards in line with POPIA, GDPR, or the processor’s public terms where applicable. Contract and due diligence on each vendor are part of a production go-live, not a static-page placeholder.

Your rights

Depending on law, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability where technically feasible, and a right to lodge a complaint with a regulator (e.g. South Africa’s Information Regulator or, in the EEA, your local supervisory authority).

Contact and updates

Questions: hello@barberrylabs.com. We may update this page; material changes to processing will be described here or in direct communication where the law requires.
